Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Liverpool could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp must cope without Trent Alexander-Arnold for Sunday's Premier League top-of-the-table clash with Manchester City.

The England right-back tweaked a muscle before the recent Champions League win over Porto, and Klopp has conceded that he will not be ready to feature against the champions.

As a result, James Milner could hold his place at right-back over Neco Williams in an unchanged rearguard also comprising Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.

Harvey Elliott (ankle) and Thiago Alcantara (calf) remain on the sidelines, but Curtis Jones has impressed in the middle of the park in recent fixtures and should be rewarded with another starting role here.

Naby Keita has also returned to fitness and made the bench at the Estadio do Dragao, but his chances of displacing Jordan Henderson alongside Fabinho are slim to none.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are obviously shoo-ins for the wide areas, but Klopp's biggest dilemma will arguably come at the tip of the attack following Roberto Firmino's eye-catching comeback.

Diogo Jota will certainly not feel like he deserves to be dropped, but Firmino's midweek brace and greater experience in such encounters could see him return to the first XI as part of the famed trio.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Alisson; Milner, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane
