Raheem Sterling's agent Aidy Ward has denied quotes attributed to him by the London Evening Standard claiming that his client will "definitely not" sign a new contract at Liverpool.

The representative, who has faced criticism for his role in the England player's contract saga, is alleged to have stated that he 'didn't care' about damaging the Premier League club's PR.

Ward is also quoted as saying that Sterling will not sign a new deal, even if he is offered £900,000 a week.

The interview also carries quotes labelling former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher a "knob" after he urged Sterling to keep his "mouth shut".

However, the agent has now hit back at the quotes attributed to him and has told Sky Sports News that he is taking legal advice.

Sterling, who has two years left on his contract, is believed to be planning to tell Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers in a meeting on Friday that he does not want to pen a fresh deal.
