David Silva: 'We can't be complacent'

Manchester City midfielder David Silva warns his side that they can't be complacent in their clash with West Ham United knowing a point will win them the Premier League title.

Manchester City midfielder David Silva has warned his teammates that they cannot be complacent in the final game of the season with just a point needed to secure the Premier League title.

Manuel Pellegrini's side face West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium with a two-point lead over second-place Liverpool knowing a draw will be good enough to win their second title in three years.

However, Silva believes that his side have to be at their best to secure the result needed and feels that there is no better example than the Reds' 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace of how things can go wrong.

He told the club's official website: "Everyone is saying we have it won but we still think it will be very difficult. The games now are like finals.

"We cannot be complacent. What happened at Crystal Palace shows you can never take anything for granted. It was a warning to us about what can happen.

"We know if we get the win, we win the league so there is pressure but you have to enjoy these moments. They don't come along all that often."

City take on West Ham later today.
