Brendan Rodgers is reportedly expected to meet Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins today following speculation linking the Irishman with the Liverpool job.

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to meet with chairman Huw Jenkins today amid rumours that the Northern Irishman is close to joining Liverpool.

The 39-year-old is believed to be a top target for the Merseyside club, who are in the hunt for a new boss after dismissing Kenny Dalglish a fortnight ago.

It is understood that Rodgers will hold a meeting with Jenkins today, but the club have stressed that the talks are a regular occurrence and are not related to recent speculation, according to BBC Sport.

Rodgers previously rejected the chance to speak to Liverpool's American owners out of respect for the Swans.
