Brendan Rodgers pleased with a point

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers describes tonight's 2-2 draw at Swansea City as "a really big point" for his team.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he is content with a point from this evening's trip to Swansea City.

The Reds led 2-1 after goals from Daniel Sturridge and Victor Moses cancelled out Jonjo Shelvey's second-minute opener, but Michu notched his first of the season to seal a 2-2 draw at the Liberty Stadium.

"I thought for the first 65 minutes we were very, very good with and without the ball," Rodgers told Sky Sports News. "We had to show character after going behind so early.

"We scored two good goals, and in the last 25 minutes we had to show defensive resilience. This will be a really big point for us.

"Very soon, we have one of the best players in the world [Luis Suarez] to come back into our team. I think we will get better and better as the season goes on."

The Merseyside outfit welcome Southampton to Anfield on Saturday.
