Mauricio Pochettino: 'We need to be more clinical'

Mauricio Pochettino insists that his side must be more clinical in front of goal after Tottenham Hotspur drew 0-0 with Liverpool.

Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that his side must be more clinical in front of goal, after he watched his Tottenham Hotspur side draw 0-0 with Liverpool.

The Lilywhites had four shots on target throughout the 90 minutes, with Clinton N'Jie having a clear-cut chance in first half to put his side up 1-0.

Despite failing to convert the several shots that his side had, the Spurs boss drew on the positives of the team's recent performances, noting how the North London side have only lost once in nine Premier League games.

"I am a little bit disappointed not to win because we created four good chances to score and the only clear one Liverpool had [Origi's header] came at a corner when we were down to 10 men because Nacer Chadli was off the field getting treatment," the Argentine manager said, according to Goal.com.

"In football you need to be clinical - we were not but I am still very happy with the performance. Both teams played with a very high tempo and it was an exciting game.

"After nine Premier League games, we have one defeat. We have shown we are a very solid and difficult team to beat."

The result puts Spurs in seventh, while the point helps Liverpool move level on points with Everton in 10th.
