Martin Skrtel hails big-game Philippe Coutinho following Chelsea heroics

Martin Skrtel pays tribute to Philippe Coutinho after the Brazilian dazzled in Liverpool's 3-1 win at Chelsea.

Martin Skrtel has hailed Philippe Coutinho's big-game mentality after the Brazilian inspired Liverpool to their 3-1 win at Chelsea on Saturday.

The 23-year-old shrugged off a disappointing start to life under manager Jurgen Klopp to score twice in what was the German's first Premier League win as Reds boss.

"The big players show their quality in the games you need them," Skrtel is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

"Maybe Philippe didn't play quite as well in the last few games but he showed his quality and how important he is for this team."

The Merseyside outfit sit eighth in the Premier League table, eight points off co-leaders Manchester City and Arsenal.
