Liverpool out to break all-time club records against Leicester City

Liverpool can extend their unbeaten home record in the league to 64 matches - a new club record - should they avoid defeat against Leicester City on Sunday.

Liverpool will be aiming to set a new club record of 64 league games unbeaten on home soil when they face off against Leicester City on Sunday evening.

The Reds have turned Anfield into a fortress over the past few years and have already amassed 12 points from a possible 12 in the 2020-21 Premier League at home - beating Arsenal, Sheffield United, Leeds United and West Ham United so far.

Jurgen Klopp's side have won an astonishing 29 of their last 30 top-flight matches on familiar territory, and should Liverpool take at least one point from their clash with Leicester, they will set a new club record of 64 home games without defeat in the league.

Liverpool's previous record was ended by none other than Leicester in January 1981, and the Reds have already equalled their 38-game scoring streak in home league matches - first set between May 1967 and February 1969.

Manchester City were the last team to stop the Premier League champions finding the back of the net in the league at Anfield in October 2018, while Klopp's side have not lost a top-flight game on familiar territory since Crystal Palace won 2-1 back in April 2017.

On an individual level, Diogo Jota has his eyes on a Reds record, as the former Wolverhampton Wanderers man could become the first-ever Liverpool player to score in each of his first four home games for the Reds in the league.
