Joe Gomez wants to 'learn from the best' at Liverpool

Joe Gomez says that he joined Liverpool to learn from the "top players" at the club.

Liverpool's new signing Joe Gomez has revealed that he joined the club to learn from its top players.

The England Under-19 international, who arrives at Anfield from Charlton Athletic, said that signing for the Reds was an "easy decision".

He told the Merseyside outfit's website: "The club has got great history and it's a great club, and one that I've always been following from when I was young.

"The style of football and the top players here was somewhere that I wanted to go and get better and learn, and play good football. It was an easy decision."

Liverpool have not disclosed the length of Gomez's contract, but have confirmed that it is a "long-term" deal.
