Kenny Dalglish says that yesterday's Carling Cup victory has given him a taste for more Liverpool trophies.

Kenny Dalglish has said that yesterday's Carling Cup victory has given him a taste for more Liverpool trophies.

The Reds won a dramatic penalty shootout after they were held at 2-2 by Cardiff City after extra time.

"I think this will inspire the players," the Liverpool boss said. "I don't think anyone has ever won a trophy either at Wembley, the Millennium Stadium or in Europe and not come away without enjoying it.

"It must give you a taste for more. That doesn't mean to say it's going to happen but it can have an impact.

"We have won it, we will really enjoy it and it will give us a wee flavour to come back and do it again."

Yesterday's cup win marks Liverpool's first silverware in six years.
