Liverpool star Sadio Mane provides update on knee injury

Liverpool star Sadio Mane posts a picture of himself in a leg brace amid reports that he could miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Liverpool star Sadio Mane has indicated that he faces a spell on the sidelines after posting an Instagram snap of himself in a leg brace.

Reports have claimed that the Senegal international is due to undergo surgery on a knee injury, which is likely to keep him out of action until the end of the season.

Jurgen Klopp's men have eight games left to try to secure a top-four position, but without Mane they could struggle, much like they did when the attacker was away at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 24-year-old suffered the injury after landing awkwardly in a challenge with Leighton Baines during the Reds' 3-1 victory over Merseyside rivals Everton last Saturday.

There has been no official confirmation as to how long Mane will be on the sidelines for, but he will definitely miss tonight's match against Bournemouth at Anfield after posting a picture of himself in a brace at home.
