Adam Lallana doubtful for Liverpool match against Sunderland

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana remains a doubt for his side's Premier League clash against Sunderland due to a groin injury he picked up on international duty.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may once again be without Adam Lallana for his side's Premier League clash with Sunderland at Anfield on Saturday.

Lallana picked up a groin injury while on international duty with England earlier this month and was forced to sit out of his side's goalless draw with former club Southampton last weekend.

However, the midfielder has still not fully recovered from the problem and could once again miss out this weekend, with Georginio Wijnaldum expected to continue alongside Jordan Henderson and Emre Can in the middle of the park.

Defender Joe Gomez, meanwhile, will play no part in the match despite returning to competitive action for the Under-23s in midweek.

The 19-year-old has been sidelined for 13 months with a serious knee injury and is now working his way back to match fitness.
