Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp happy for Sadio Mane to play for Senegal

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that he is happy for Sadio Mane to play for Senegal next week, providing that the winger has proven that he has recovered from injury.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has suggested that he has no issues with Sadio Mane playing for Senegal next week.

Mane has been sidelined since October 7 because of a hamstring injury, but Klopp has revealed that the winger could return for the Premier League fixture with West Ham United.

Klopp has hinted that the 25-year-old will feature off the bench, and the German feels that would justify being able to represent his country as they look to qualify for the World Cup.

The 50-year-old told reporters: "We are trying to get in contact with Senegal FA. Is he 100% fit? That's different.

"If Senegal get the point they need in first game then ideal situation would be that he doesn't play the second game. If Sadio can play for Senegal then I think he should as it will be good for him to get some rhythm."

Mane had already been called up to Senegal's squad before news of his early recovery.
