Gareth Bale's record vs. Liverpool

Ahead of Saturday's Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool, Sports Mole looks at Gareth Bale's record against the Reds.

Zinedine Zidane has some big decisions to make ahead of Real Madrid's meeting with Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday night.

The form of Gareth Bale in the tail end of the campaign has given the Frenchman a selection headache of sorts, with two spots up for grabs alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bale certainly knows this weekend's opponents well, having come up against them on 10 previous occasions in the past, including once during his time at the Bernabeu.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at the Wales international's record against Liverpool.

Bale vs. Liverpool

Bale fired a blank in that only previous encounter with the Reds during his Madrid spell, featuring for the final half-hour of a 1-0 win for his side in a Champions League group match three-and-a-half years ago.

The 28-year-old did not fare all that well against Liverpool while wearing the white of Tottenham Hotspur, either, finding the net once in 10 meetings - an impressive free kick past Pepe Reina in a 2-1 win during the 2012-13 season.

Bale has been used as either a winger or forward in eight of those 10 matches, but he has amassed just three assists - one of those coming in that aforementioned win at White Hart Lane - and one goal.
