Report: Leicester City eye Sporting Lisbon's Islam Slimani

A report claims that Leicester City are ready to activate the release clause of Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani, which stands in the region of £24m.

Premier League champions Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.

The 27-year-old, who is an Algerian international of 43 caps, has scored 30 times in 42 appearances for Sporting this term.

A number of clubs, including Manchester United, have previously been linked with the centre-forward, but according to A Bola, it is Leicester that are making the strongest noises.

The same report claims that Leicester are prepared to active Slimani's release clause, just shy of £24m.

Slimani joined Sporting from CR Belouizdad in the summer of 2013.
