Leicester City announce that Arsenal defender Ignasi Miquel has joined the Championship club on a season-long loan.

Leicester City have announced the capture of Arsenal defender Ignasi Miquel on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old had been expected to leave the Emirates on a temporary deal for the 2013-14 campaign, with Leicester making an early move for the player.

Manager Nigel Pearson told the club's official website: "Ignasi is a centre-back with lots of potential and he will give us another option in defence. He's very enthusiastic and delighted to be here, which is a big part of taking players on loan for us."

Pearson has also confirmed that the defender will be available to play in this Sunday's clash against Leeds United.
