Leicester City reportedly make contact with Fiorentina regarding a potential deal for winger Nicolas Gonzalez.
Having endured a difficult summer in the transfer market, the Foxes have endured an equally disappointing time on the pitch since the beginning of August.
Brendan Rodgers's team have lost 11 of their 18 matches in the Premier League, leaving the club in 13th position in the standings and 11 points off seventh place.
Leicester have suffered defeat in their last three fixtures in the top flight, and they also bowed out of the EFL Cup at the quarter-final stage on Tuesday evening as they were outclassed by Newcastle United.
Although speculation regarding Rodgers's future is not as intense as earlier in the campaign, the Northern Irishman is aware that he must instigate a turnaround in fortunes as soon as possible.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the East Midlands outfit have expressed an interest in signing Gonzalez.
The playmaker has only recently made his return from an extended layoff, playing the final 18 minutes of Fiorentina's 2-1 win over Sassuolo last weekend.
In total, the Argentina international has contributed four goals from his three starts and six substitute outings this campaign.
Gonzalez has a contract at Stadio Artemio Franchi until 2026, leaving Fiorentina in a strong position with regards to his future if they do not wish to entertain a sale in January.

However, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, discussions are taking place with regards to a potential fee.
Fiorentina paid in the region of €23m when they signed Gonzalez from Stuttgart in July 2021, and club officials may insist on recouping at least that fee to entertaining a sale.
Although Leicester have funds to spend courtesy of the sale of Wesley Fofana, Rodgers is expected to want to strengthen in other areas of the pitch before the end of the month.
With defender Caglar Soyuncu continuing to be linked with a switch to Atletico Madrid, Leicester are said to be contemplating a formal approach for Stoke City and Australia centre-back Harry Souttar.
