Demarai Gray completes Leicester City move

Birmingham City announce that Demarai Gray's move to Leicester City for an undisclosed fee is complete.

Leicester City have secured the services of Birmingham City attacker Demarai Gray.

The 19-year-old extended his contract at St Andrew's last summer, but an undisclosed buyout clause was inserted into the deal, which it would appear that Premier League high-flyers Leicester have met.

"It's been my dream to play in the Premier League since I started playing football so I'm very happy to join the club," the winger told the club's official website.

"It's a great club. The facilities are great and for a player like me it's an ideal place for me to improve. Meeting all the staff here, it seems like a nice family place, so I think that's perfect for me.

"You can see how well the team has been doing this year and I watch a lot of football so I can see that the way Leicester City play suits my style. I only hear good things about Leicester and I'm looking forward to starting."

There had been suggestions prior to the confirmation that Gray, who has agreed a deal at the King Power Stadium that runs until 2020, would return to Birmingham on a loan basis until the end of the season.

However, that has proven not to be the case, with the England youth international expected to be in the Leicester squad for the weekend's FA Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

In total, Gray made 78 appearances for Birmingham, from which he scored eight goals.
