The visitors had a good chance to make the breakthrough on 22 minutes when Matej Vydra took advantage of a mistake from Jeffrey Schlupp to surge through on goal. However, his effort was kept out thanks to a low save from Kasper Schmeichel.
The Leicester goalkeeper was called into action again moments later as he palmed away Almen Abdi's long-range strike.
Despite plenty of possession for the home side, they struggled to create any decent opportunities in the Watford penalty area until the final stages of the first half.

Nugent fired wide after a move involving Chris Wood, while Anthony Knockaert had his shot from a tight angle tipped away by Manuel Almunia.
Watford took their time to get involved in the second half, but they had a glorious opportunity to open the scoring on the hour when Vydra hit his effort straight at Schmeichel after running through on goal.
Knockaert then blasted over at the other end before Vydra was denied again by Schmeichel from long range.
With the game heading for a goalless draw, Leicester made the breakthrough on 82 minutes when Nugent got onto the end of Knockaert's free kick to flick his header past Almunia.
