Nigel Pearson: "We could have won by six"

Nigel Pearson reveals his pleasure at Leicester's win over Yeovil, but admits that the Foxes could be punished in the future if they do not put opponents out of sight when they have the chance.

Manager Nigel Pearson has described Leicester City's 2-1 triumph away at Yeovil Town as a "good win" but admitted that the margin of victory should have been more convincing.

The Foxes have moved level on points with Burnley and Queens Park Rangers at the top of the Championship, although they needed a fifth penalty in as many games from David Nugent to secure the points at Huish Park.

Lloyd Dyer was also on the scoresheet, but he and Jamie Vardy missed several chances to extend Leicester's advantage, and Pearson was frustrated that they did not put the game to bed earlier.

"We should have been out of sight, lets be honest," Pearson told reporters. "I don't think anybody could argue that we didn't deserve to win. With the number of chances we've created we could have won by six.

"On another night we could be frustrated by having not put them out of sight. These are tough places to come to. Its a long journey, it is not the nicest night and we've had a display where our fans can see how much we care.

"It is a good win, the players are continuing to improve as a group. All in all it is a good win but it could have been more convincing but we will improve."

The East Midlands outfit host Doncaster Rovers in their next Championship outing.
