Nigel Pearson wants automatic promotion

Nigel Pearson believes that Leicester City can secure automatic promotion to the Premier League this season.

Nigel Pearson has said that Leicester City are still hopeful of finishing in the top two in the Championship this season.

The Foxes lost ground on the automatic promotion places at the weekend with a loss at Millwall.

The club's manager told Sky Sports News: "We are still well in the shake-up. It is very tight above us. I have a good handle on the perspective.

"It was a missed opportunity against Millwall but we are in and amongst it.

"We have two games coming up and, if we beat them, we can make a big impact because they are teams around us in the table."

Leicester are currently fifth in the Championship, five points of the top two.
