Leicester City's Jamie Vardy: 'Fans will be happy with a point against Saints'

Leicester City's Jamie Vardy says that the supporters should be happy with the point earned at the weekend after going two goals down against Southampton.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has claimed that the fans should be happy with the point that the team earned against Southampton, but admits that he is disappointed not to have grabbed a hat-trick.

The England international scored his eighth and ninth goal of the campaign to give the Foxes a 2-2 draw at St Mary's on Saturday.

Leicester had gone 2-0 down before the half-time break following goals from Jose Fonte and Virgil van Dijk.

"I probably could have had a hat-trick so I may have let [the fans] down a bit, but I'm sure they'll be happy with a point," Vardy told Foxes Player.

"It was a disappointing first half to be honest, coming in 2-0 down, especially against two set plays, but obviously the boys in the second half have showed their character, they've managed to get the point and it could have been more."

Claudio Ranieri's side are currently fifth in the Premier League table.
