Jamie Vardy accepts improper conduct charge, suspended for two games

Jamie Vardy will miss half of Leicester City's Premier League title run-in after accepting an FA charge for improper conduct in the 2-2 draw against West Ham United.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has accepted a Football Association charge for improper conduct and will therefore receive an extended two-match ban.

The 29-year-old confronted referee Jonathan Moss after being shown a second yellow card for diving in Sunday's 2-2 draw with West Ham United.

Vardy was unhappy with the decision and reacted angrily on the field, leading to an FA charge which he and Leicester have now accepted.

On top of the automatic one-match suspension for picking up a red, the England international will now miss a second game which rules him out of exactly half of his side's Premier League title run-in.

Leicester, who have also accepted a charge of failing to control their players in the feisty match at the King Power Stadium last weekend, will be without their star striker for games against Swansea City and Manchester United.

The Foxes hold a five-point lead over closest challengers Tottenham Hotspur heading into the final stretch of the season.
