Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has reportedly emerged as a January transfer target for Aston Villa.
Heaton spent much of last season on the sidelines with a shoulder injury, and the England international currently finds himself behind Joe Hart at Turf Moor.
The 32-year-old's inactivity will lead to offers for his services at the midway point of the campaign, and according to The Express, Villa are ready to make a bid.
The report suggests that the Championship outfit are favourites to win the race for Heaton ahead of Leeds United, who are in the market for a new stopper due to Jamal Blackman's long-term injury.
Heaton still has just over 18 months remaining on his contract, but Sean Dyche could be boosted by the return of Nick Pope at the turn of the year.
