Leeds United have revealed that Jay-Roy Grot has been allowed to join VVV-Venlo on a season-long loan deal.
Last summer, Grot left NEC to make the switch to Elland Road and although the forward made 20 outings in the Championship during the most recent campaign, just one came from the starting lineup.
Grot still has three years remaining on his contract, and Leeds have allowed the 20-year-old to continue his development in the Eredivisie.
Director of football Victor Orta told the club's official website: "A lot of clubs have shown interest in taking Jay-Roy on loan this summer and we have worked hard to analyse each option to find the best solution for the player and for our club.
"We believe that Jay-Roy has a strong future ahead of him and we feel that regularly playing games is going to be a key part of his development. We wish him every success this season and we are confident he can only benefit from this experience."
New head coach Marcelo Bielsa is currently looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the start of the new second-tier season.
