New Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen has admitted that "in football nothing is guaranteed", amid suggestions that Chris Wood could leave Elland Road in this summer's transfer window.
Wood scored 30 times in 48 appearances for Leeds last season, and a number of clubs, including Turkish giants Besiktas, have been credited with an interest in the New Zealand international.
The 25-year-old is expected to be in the Leeds team for Sunday afternoon's Championship clash against Bolton Wanderers, but Christiansen has claimed that he cannot guarantee Wood will remain beyond August.
"He's our player. There's only one thing that I know 100% and that is that we will all pass away. But in football nothing is guaranteed... in the case of Chris Wood, he will stay and I want him to stay. But you never know," Christiansen told reporters.
Wood has netted 43 times in 85 appearances for Leeds since a 2015 move from Leicester City.
