Blackpool boost their play-off hopes with a 1-0 win over Leeds United at Bloomfield Road this evening.

Blackpool have strengthened their play-off hopes with a 1-0 win over Leeds United this evening.

The first half was a tentative one with few chances for either side. The Tangerines perhaps had the better of the play but neither goalkeeper was particularly stretched.

The second half looked like panning out in much the same way as the first until the deadlock was finally broken with just over 10 minutes to go through Angel Martinez.

Things went from bad to worse for Neil Warnock's side just minutes later when Darren O'Dea was shown a second yellow card, reducing the Whites to 10 men.

The result means that Blackpool remain fifth in the Championship table, four points clear of seventh-placed Middlesbrough, while Leeds now sit 12th.
