Leeds United 'demand Football League to make Massimo Cellino decision today'

Leeds United reportedly write to the Football League to demand a decision regarding Massimo Cellino's proposed takeover of the club.

Leeds United have reportedly called on the Football League to make a decision regarding Massimo Cellino's possible takeover of the Championship club by the end of the day.

Doubts over the Italian's proposed capture of the club have risen after Cellino was found guilty of failing to pay import duty on a yacht.

The 57-year-old's company Eleonora Sport Ltd agreed to buy a 75% share of the club in February, but due to Cellino's £502,000 fine as a result of tax evasion, the takeover could be in jeopardy.

According to Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds have written to the Football League to make a decision regarding the ratification of Cellino's takeover by the end of business today.

The Italian businessman's proposed purchase has sparked controversy following his company's failed attempts to sack manager Brian McDermott earlier this year.
