Massimo Cellino disqualified from owning Leeds United

The Football League disqualifies Massimo Cellino from owning Leeds United.

The Football League has announced that Massimo Cellino has been disqualified from owning Leeds United.

The Italian was previously disqualified from owning the Championship club back in March due to tax offences in his home country, but he successfully appealed the ruling.

However, following a meeting last week, the Football League has decided that Cellino "is subject to a disqualifying condition" under the owners' test after the full details of his conduct was disclosed by a court in Italy.

The 58-year-old, who has been asked to resign from his position at Elland Road, has 14 days to appeal the decision.

Cellino would be entitled to return to Leeds in March 2015 once his conviction has been spent.

Leeds are back in action on Saturday when they travel to high-flying Ipswich Town.
