Half-Time Report: Leeds United, Leicester City level at the interval

Leeds United are level with Leicester City having missed several chances to take the lead.

Leeds United have gone in at half time level with Leicester City in their Championship clash, but will consider themselves unfortunate not to be in front at the interval.

The game began at a frantic pace and both sides went close to opening the scoring.

With only six minutes on the clock, Luke Varney's inch-perfect cross picked out Ross McCormack, only to see his header come back off the post with Kasper Schmeichel beaten.

Seconds later, Leicester tested the woodwork themselves when Jamie Vardy's well-taken half-volley was too good for Paddy Kenny but not the frame of the goal.

McCormack was again in the midst of the action when Schmeichel failed to deal with Stephen Warnock's free kick and the Leeds captain lobbed the Danish keeper, which was cleared off the line back to the striker's feet, but his second effort was turned around the far post.

On 18 minutes, United's best chance fell to the same player as a mistake from Paul Konchesky presented a one-on-one opportunity, but the ex-Boro frontman was unable to place his effort beyond the reach of the Leicester shot-stopper.

Midway through the first period, Leeds squandered another chance when Schmeichel again failed to deal with a set piece, but Tom Lees was unable to guide his header goalwards from close range.

Leicester's chances were limited during the first half as they struggled to assert themselves on proceedings against a rejuvenated opposition, but they almost forged a surprise when Anthony Knockaert fizzing shot flew past Paddy Kenny's left-hand post.

The Foxes are looking for their sixth consecutive win in the league.
