Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including PSG vs. Saint-Etienne

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Paris Saint-Germain vs. Saint-Etienne.

Le Havre vs. Lens (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Seeking their first victory since November, Le Havre will aim to close the gap between themselves and relegation when they host Lens on Sunday at Stade Oceane.

The Normandy side are second from the bottom in Ligue 1 after being hammered 5-1 by Marseille, while Les Sang et Or were beaten 1-0 versus Toulouse and sit seventh in the table.

We say: Le Havre 0-1 Lens

Le Havre have the worst attack in the league (12 goals) this season, while Lens have conceded the second-fewest goals (15), and we believe the visitors will not have enough to shut down Les Ciel et Marine and return to winning ways.

Toulouse vs. Strasbourg (Sunday, 4.15pm)

A pair of undefeated sides in 2025 aim to close the gap for a spot in Europe next season as Toulouse welcome Strasbourg to Stadium de Toulouse on Sunday on matchday 17 of the Ligue 1 campaign.

Le Tef began the year with a 1-0 victory away to Lens, as they sit eighth in the table, four points ahead of the Alsatian club who came back to beat Auxerre 3-1 and climb up to 10th.

We say: Toulouse 1-1 Strasbourg

These are two sides in fine form at the moment, but as good as Strasbourg have been in the attacking third, their opponents have been extremely compact defensively at home, and we expect a stalemate as a result.

Montpellier vs. Angers (Sunday, 4.15pm)

Relegation-threatened Montpellier HSC will be searching for their first victory in six Ligue 1 matches when they host Angers at the Stade de la Mosson in Sunday's gameweek 17 clash.

La Paillade's 16-year stay in the top division is under threat, with nine points leaving them rock bottom in the standings, while 14th-placed Angers head into the encounter seeking back-to-back top-flight wins to boost their survival hopes.

We say: Montpellier HSC 1-1 Angers

Montpellier come into this contest on a run of six matches without a victory in all competitions.

Although their form suggests they could suffer another defeat in front of their fans, their record of three wins in Angers' last three visits leaves the match on a knife-edge, setting the stage for a possible 1-1 draw.

PSG vs. St Etienne (Sunday, 7.45pm)

After clinching the Trophee des Champions last Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain return to Ligue 1 action this weekend as they welcome Saint-Etienne to the Parc des Princes.

Having secured the domestic double in 2023-24, the Parisians faced last season's league runners-up Monaco in the French Super Cup, winning the trophy for the 11th time in 12 years.

We say: Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 Saint-Etienne

PSG enter this encounter as clear favourites, buoyed by their record against the Greens and their formidable form on home turf.

The visitors, despite experiencing a manager bounce following their recent success against Reims, are expected to struggle given their dismal away form, compounded by a porous defence that has shipped 27 goals - the highest in the division - making a home win the likely outcome.
