David Beckham to play in A-League?

Football Federation Australia reveal that the agent representing the management of David Beckham has contacted them about the Los Angeles Galazy star featuring in Australia's A-League.

Former England captain David Beckham could play 10 games in Australia's A-League, according to reports.

Alessandro del Piero and Emile Heskey have recently made the move to Australia, and, according to ABC and the Australian Associated Press, the 37-year-old could be next in line to make the move Down Under.

The reports were supported by Football Federation Australia (FFA), who have revealed that they have been approached by an agent representing the management of the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder.

An FFA spokesman said: "Discussions are at a preliminary stage but the approach from David Beckham's people is another sign of how much the A-League has grown in stature on a global basis."

The Major League Soccer season finishes in two weeks, which may increase the likelihood of a short-term move for Beckham.
