Kilmarnock to re-sign David Silva

Kilmarnock manager Allan Johnston confirms that the club is on the verge of re-signing Cape Verde international winger David Silva.

Kilmarnock are on the verge of re-signing Cape Verde international winger David Silva.

The 26-year-old, who was released by the Ayrshire club in June 2012, recently returned to Killie for a trial.

Silva now appears to have done enough to convince manager Allan Johnston to give him a second chance at Rugby Park.

Speaking after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Partick Thistle, Johnston told reporters: "He has agreed everything.

"He should be coming in this week and hopefully he will add a bit of pace and creativity in the wider areas."

Silva made 45 Scottish Premier League appearances during his first spell in Scotland, scoring four goals in the process.
