Juventus could be without goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon for their Serie A opener against Parma on Saturday.

The Italian club announced on their official website that Buffon has been diagnosed with the extension of a muscle in his right thigh.

The 34-year-old missed the weekend's Trofeo Berlusconi due to a muscular problem, and is now likely to sit out the Bianconeri's clash with Parma in Turin, according to reports in Italy.

Juventus are the defending Italian champions, having won the Scudetto last season for the first time since 2004.
