How Juventus could line up against SPAL

Sports Mole looks at how Juventus could line up in Saturday's Serie A clash with SPAL.

Juventus will be looking for their 12th Serie A win of the 2018-19 campaign when they host SPAL this weekend.

The Old Lady have been victorious in 11 of their 12 league fixtures this season to top the table on 34 points, with second-placed Napoli currently six points off the summit.

Juventus recorded an impressive 2-0 win away to AC Milan before the international break, and they have been victorious in each of their three league fixtures since being held by Genoa on October 20.

SPAL, meanwhile, currently sit 15th in the division having gathered 13 points from their 12 fixtures this term.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Juventus could line up on Saturday night.

POSS JUVE XI vs. SPAL

Out: Emre Can (illness)
Doubtful: Federico Bernardeschi (groin), Miralem Pjanic (muscle), Sami Khedira (ankle)

Emre Can is back in training for Juventus having recovered from his surgery on a thyroid nodule. This match will come far too soon for the midfielder, however, as he builds back to fitness.

The Italian champions have other problems in midfield, with Sami Khedira expected to miss out with an ankle problem, while Miralem Pjanic picked up a muscular injury while on international duty with Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Pjanic is expected to overcome the complaint to start, although a groin problem could see Federico Bernardeschi, who trained away from the main group earlier this week, miss out altogether.

Elsewhere, Leonardo Bonucci is expected to return to central defence having been replaced by Medhi Benatia against Milan, with Joao Cancelo and Alex Sandro keeping their spots in the full-back positions.

Mario Mandzukic was on the scoresheet against Milan, and the 2018 World Cup finalist is expected to continue as part of a front three with Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.
