Cesare Prandelli insists that Italy have no intention to play in a defensive manner against Germany on Thursday evening.

Italy manager Cesare Prandelli has dismissed claims that his side will adopt defensive tactics against Germany in the Euro 2012 semi-final on Thursday.

The Italians are unbeaten in the tournament and Prandelli believes that it would be foolish to change an approach that has served the team well in recent times.

"We will not change what has brought us here," he said.

"It would be a shame to waste the work of two years. We would be lacking maturity to play a different way.

"We have quality in midfield, a lot of flair, a lot of physical strength and technical ability in there."
