Mick McCarthy rules out the possibility of Ipswich Town adding a number of loan players next season.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has insisted that the club will not rely on loan arrivals while he is in charge.

The Ipswich boss has just seen deals for DJ Campbell and Danny Higginbotham expire today, while the likes of Bradley Orr and Stephen Henderson will also soon be returning to their parent clubs.

However, having taken over from Paul Jewell earlier in the season, McCarthy has gone on the record to say that he will not be replicating the previous manager's dealings in the transfer market.

"This won't happen again next season. Not a chance, the club can't let it happen again. It's not right," he told the East Anglian Daily Times. "I keep coming in here and being asked questions about who is staying and who is going and I haven't got a clue half the time.

"I want to be the master of my own destiny. We might have five loan players again next season, but I'll make sure we've got 18 others to supplement them. I wouldn't want this situation again going forward."

The Tractor Boys are currently 19th in the Championship.
