Ipswich Town sign Jonathan Parr

Free agent Jonathan Parr signs a two-year deal with Championship side Ipswich Town.

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of free agent Jonathan Parr.

The Norwegian international featured regularly as Crystal Palace earned promotion back to the Premier League during the 2012-13 campaign, but last term he found starting opportunities hard to come by.

As a result, the Eagles opted not to renew his contract, which expired earlier this summer.

The 25-year-old had been linked with Bolton Wanderers, who are managed by former Palace boss Dougie Freedman, but Championship rivals Ipswich have won the race for his services.

Parr has agreed a two-year deal at Portman Road.
