James Vincent "over the moon" with winning goal

Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder James Vincent admits that he is "over the moon" after scoring the winning goal in the Scottish Cup final.

James Vincent has said that he is "over the moon" after scoring the winning goal for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final this afternoon.

It looked as though the match was heading for extra time when Falkirk equalised against 10-man Caley, but Vincent found the back of the net inside the final five minutes to hand Inverness the trophy.

The midfielder told BBC Sport: "It's fantastic. I dreamt about this all week. I knew I wasn't playing so I knew I had to come on and have an impact. To get the winning goal, I'm over the moon. I thought Marley should have slipped me in but he had a good shot, [the keeper] parried it to me, right place, right time.

"It's the pinnacle. These are the games you want to be playing in. They really mean something to everyone involved, the fans, your family and friends, so to come out on top is brilliant.

"We have that camaraderie. We stick together. It's the emphasis on our game play and we go on and win and we showed that today. It's party time."

It is the first time that the club has won the trophy since forming in 1994.
