Reports in Italy claim that Inter Milan are looking to sign Ruud van Nistelrooy until the end of the current campaign.

Serie A side Inter Milan are reportedly hoping that they can convince Ruud van Nistelrooy to come out of retirement until the end of the season.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker hung up his boots last summer following a stint in Spain with Malaga.

However, having received the news that Diego Milito will miss the remainder of the campaign with a knee injury, Inter have turned to free agent Van Nistelrooy to fill the Argentine's void, according to Sportmediaset.

Van Nistelrooy called time on his career having made 589 senior appearances at club level.
