Inter Milan are not facing an emergency financial situation but they are not in a position to make any new signings this month, director Beppe Marotta confirms.

Inter Milan director Beppe Marotta has reiterated that the club are not in the market for any new signings in the January transfer window.

The Italian giants are flying high in Serie A this term, sitting level on points with leaders AC Milan after playing a game more.

However, concerns have been raised over Inter's financial stability in recent weeks, with suggestions that a new buyer is being sought to steady the ship.

Marotta has insisted that the club are not facing a financial crisis, but any incoming activity this month has been ruled out.

"Inter are one of the most important clubs in the world," he told Sky Sport Italia. "There was a certain transition period, we want to get back to where Inter belong.

"I can reassure everyone that we are working to ensure consistency for every employee, it is absolutely not an emergency situation.

"I can't give a full rundown of the situation, but Inter are, have been and will be one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"We received some indications and guidelines from the club, so we cannot make any investments and should not expect important developments. The group should be respected for the work done and achievements made."

A couple of players may leave San Siro before the end of the window, with out-of-favour playmaker Christian Eriksen among those to be linked with a move away.
