Hull City manager Steve Bruce has praised his big-name players for their 'excellent performance' in Saturday's Championship playoff final victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
The Tigers had Mohamed Diame to thank for winning the contest, as the £3.5m signing from West Ham United let leash with a bullet strike to settle the game 28 minutes from time.
City, who still have the nucleus of a Premier League squad - spearheaded by top-scoring marksman Abel Hernandez - now have another season of top-flight football to look forward to after just one year away.
"It was just that little bit of quality to decide a big game," Bruce told Sky Sports News of the match-winning moment. "Diame has produced a bit of magic and it's won us the match.
"We seemed to have so many good chances. Thankfully Diame has come up with a wonder striker and I'm delighted for him. I thought we had the better chances - my big players today performed excellently."
Hull are just the second team in 18 attempts, along with Queens Park Rangers in 2014, to finish fourth in the Championship and go on to win promotion.
