Steve Bruce: 'Jake Livermore is in a good place'

Steve Bruce believes that Jake Livermore is in a "good place" after recently returning to action for Hull City.

Steve Bruce has claimed that Jake Livermore is in a "good place" after being welcomed back into the Hull City squad.

Livermore was suspended by Hull and the Football Association after testing positive for cocaine earlier this year, but it was confirmed in September that he would not face a long ban due to the circumstances as the midfielder had been battling with the death of his newborn son.

The 25-year-old has made two appearances for the Tigers since that decision and Bruce is delighted that the England international is involved once again.

"He's back doing what he wants to do, and that's playing football. Thankfully, he knows he's done wrong and he's never denied that," the Hull boss told Sky Sports News.

"He's been brutally honest about it and we have to work every day with him to help him deal with the tragedies he's had. Thankfully, he's in a good place, training and working hard. He's enjoying being back playing football and we're delighted we've got Jake Livermore around because he's a very good player."

Hull meet Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday.
