Former Hull City manager Phil Brown has admitted that he would 'jump at the opportunity' to return to the club.
Nick Barmby was sacked earlier in the week following comments that he made about Hull's transfer policy.
"As far as I'm concerned I want to get my teeth into a project. If it's an old project that's unfinished business then so be it, hopefully it's around the corner," Brown told Sky Sports News.
"I was asked about the job earlier in the week and I thought it was distasteful then because Nick Barmby was suspended and was still in charge.
"As far as I'm concerned it looks like Hull have moved on and, if there is an interview process, of course I'd jump at the opportunity to go back, but there's plenty of good managers out there."
Brown was sacked by the Tigers in 2007 after three years in charge of the club.
