Half-Time Report: Hull City in control over Brighton & Hove Albion at break

Hull City have one foot in the FA Cup quarter-finals having taken a 2-0 lead into half time of their fifth-round replay against Brighton.

Hull City have one foot in the FA Cup quarter-finals having gone into the halfway stage of their fifth-round replay against Brighton & Hove Albion two goals to the good.

The hosts had a penalty shout turned down in the 13th minute when Yannick Sagbo's low cross appeared to hit the hand of a sliding Inigo Calderon, only for referee Andre Marriner to wave the claims away.

Hull were ahead just a minute later, however, as Curtis Davies latched on to Robert Koren's corner to loop his header over Peter Brezovan and in at the back post.

They doubled their advantage 10 minutes before the break when Koren got his own name on the scoresheet with a low free kick that deflected off the wall, wrong-footing Brezovan and looping into the net.

Brighton were unable to respond before the break and now have a mountain to climb in the second half.
