Huddersfield Town confirm that they have signed defender Mathias Jorgensen from Copenhagen for an undisclosed fee.

Huddersfield Town have confirmed that they have signed defender Mathias Jorgensen from Copenhagen on a three-year deal.

Since earning promotion to the Premier League, the Terriers have been busy in the transfer market with eight signings having already been completed and Elias Kachunga turning his loan deal into a permanent move.

The Yorkshire outfit have now revealed that Danish international Jorgensen has signed for an undisclosed fee, with head coach David Wagner describing the centre-back as a "very complete defender".

Wagner told the club's official website: "Matthias is another very good signing for our club as we prepare for our first Premier League season.

"He is a very complete defender with great experience of being successful in every league he has played in, which served us well with the signings we made last season too.

"His athleticism and football intelligence will be big assets in the Premier League, for sure, and he is a super professional character, which will fit in with our current group of players very well."

The 27-year-old is no stranger to England, having represented Copenhagen in both of their Champions League fixtures against Leicester City last season.
