Jose Mourinho disappointed to see Ronaldo lose World Cup record

Jose Mourinho admits that he was sad to see Ronaldo lose his World Cup goals record to Miroslav Klose earlier this week.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that he was disappointed to see Ronaldo lose his World Cup record after Miroslav Klose scored his 16th goal in the competition earlier this week.

Klose's strike in Germany's 7-1 semi-final thrashing of Brazil saw him break Ronaldo's record, but Mourinho believes that the Brazilian can still claim to be one of the best players ever.

"Hats off to Klose," the Chelsea manager told Yahoo. "I highly respect the numbers he has achieved but the truth is that a player who I consider the best after [Diego] Maradona lost a record.

"I believe that Ronaldo was the best player of the last two decades. At least he doesn't lose the title of being the best of the past 20 years."

Klose will look to add to his tally in what looks likely to be his final World Cup game against Argentina in Sunday's final.
