Germany manager Joachim Low has refused to criticise his squad for easing off in their 4-1 win over Kazakhstan in their World Cup qualifying clash.
A brace from Marco Reus and strikes from Mario Gotze and Ilkay Gundogan were enough to secure the three points despite the visitors getting a goal back through Heinrich Schmidtgal.
"They have important Bundesliga games at the weekend and Champions League matches next week so possibly they were thinking about that," Low told reporters.
"But we still created a lot of chances against very deep-lying opponents who didn't even want to play football."
Germany lead Group C by eight points after playing six games in their qualifying campaign.
