Lorenzo Tonelli scores a late equaliser as Empoli come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Genoa in their Serie A match.

Empoli came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Genoa and stretched their unbeaten run in Serie A to five matches at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this evening.

The hosts took the lead in the 14th minute when Andrea Bertolacci latched on to a loose ball on the edge of the box and rifled a strike into the bottom corner.

Midway through the first half Manuel Pucciarelli had a chance to level the scores for Empoli, but after being picked out at the back post he put his effort wide of the target.

Bertolacci came close to finding the net for the second time after the break, but Davide Bassi palmed away his attempt.

In the 78th minute Empoli got back on level terms when Lorenzo Tonelli diverted the ball into the net from close range following a corner to earn his side a point.
