Kit Symons "bitterly disappointed" with defeat

Fulham boss Kit Symons concedes that his side are in a very perilous position in the Championship following their 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Bournemouth.

Fulham boss Kit Symons has admitted that he was disappointed with his side's display in their 5-1 hammering at the hands of Bournemouth.

Brett Pitman and Matt Ritchie both notched two strikes each at Craven Cottage and Steve Cook added a late goal to complete the thrashing, while Fernando Amorebieta was sent off for the home side in the second half to compound their woes.

"It looked like top against bottom," Symons told Sky Sports News. "All credit to Bournemouth but we are bitterly disappointed with the performance.

"Until we are mathematically safe we have to get as many points as we can. We are conscious of what's below us. No one is under any illusions, you only have to look at the table. Everyone is fully aware of where we are."

Fulham are 20th in the Championship, just eight points clear of the relegation zone.
